Bulk Materials

All Island Mason Supply carries a large selection of various bulk materials, (i.e. mulch, topsoil, sand & salt, gravel & stone, and miscellaneous rock), which are sold by the ton on our NYS Certified Scale. Purchasing landscaping materials in bulk quantity can be more convenient when large amounts of material are required.

With the various colors, sizes and grades of bulk materials, it is recommended you visit our convenient location to pick out exactly what you will need for your landscape design project. With over 30 bulk products to choose from, you’ll be sure to find the stone or mulch you need.

Bulk Product is sold by the ton. For those who don’t have the means to haul away bulk material, delivery is available for an additional fee.

RUBBER MULCH

If you are tired of the re-mulching hassle, Play Safer Rubber Mulch, made from 100% recycled tire chips, allows you to mulch once, safely and effectively. This is a great alternative to replenishing and replacing the typical wood mulches, as well as the ever- sinking pea gravel. It is great for playground areas too. Some benefits include:

MAINTENANCE TIP: MULCH MAINTENANCE

Mulch is a great addition to any landscape. It gives a clean uniform look to any garden design, while keeping weeds to a minimum. When using mulch in your garden, it's a good idea to remember the following:

Mulch should be applied when soils are moist and never more than three inches in depth.
Too-thickly applied, mulch restricts movement of oxygen and carbon dioxide into and out of the root zone.
Be sure mulch is never placed against stems or trunks of trees or shrubs, as mulch contact with stems of plants causes crown rot.
If mulches dry out, they repel water just like a thatched roof.
Mulches applied over a dry soil will keep that soil drier.
The important point is to apply mulches at the proper time and be sure to check soil moisture under mulches, especially if you are irrigating.
